(“SETC”) is a technology-driven enterprise committed to delivering advanced solutions, high-performance products, and integrated services for the global oil and gas exploration and development industry. The company plays a strategic role in accelerating the digital transformation of unconventional hydrocarbon resource development. SETC’s core business portfolio includes technical services for energy exploration and production, research and commercialization of innovative technologies, execution of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, as well as the development and deployment of new energy initiatives.

Case Studies
  • The YJ-XX well, part of “Shendi No. 1” initiative, is located in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, on the fringes of the Taklamakan Desert. This ultra-deep directional well, drilled by SINOPEC Petroleum Engineering Company with SETC serving as the integrated technical service provider, reached an impressive total depth of 9,432 meters, exceeding the height of Mount Everest by 624 meters.

  • SETC’s Drilling Optimization Center (DOC) service model has progressed through several phases, including the pilot testing phase in 2018, block-scale expansion trials in 2019, and full-scale deployment and application in 2020. By the end of 2024, SETC, in collaboration with the clients, had established six DOCs, each capable of simultaneously providing technical service up to 200 wells. Cumulatively, SETC DOCs have provided drilling optimization services for a total of 1,359 wells.

  • SETC delivers fully integrated drilling and fracturing service packages across key basins including Ordos and Bohai Bay. These services span the entire project lifecycle, offering a seamless combination of subsurface evaluation and operation execution. The scope of work includes comprehensive reservoir characterization, and the development of integrated geological-engineering plans tailored to each asset.   • –SETC provided a full spectrum of technical and support personnel for both office-based and in-field operations, focused on well completion and workover activities. The roles supplied included: Completion & Workover Engineers, Completion & Workover Managers, Field Supervisors, ESP Operations Supervisors, Senior ESP Engineers, ESP Materials Coordinators, Senior Planning Engineers, Cost Control Engineers, HSE Directors, HSE Supervisors, and Materials Supervisors.
